Calling ALL Property Owners: The Red Cross Needs You! Help Fire Victims

In an effort to assist the hundreds of families who have lost their rental units and have been displaced by the recent fires, the Red Cross has asked for assistance from our property owner community.

  • Specifically, the Red Cross is asking for contact information of property owners who have one—and two-bedroom units available to rent within 10 miles of either the Eaton Fire or Palisades Fire boundaries.
  • Renters assisted will be prepared to cover expenses similar to those required of any other renter on the private market.

If you have an available unit, please contact the Los Angeles County Development Authority at (626) 586-1570, (626) 586-1565, or at Owner.Services@lacda.org, and your contact information will be forwarded to the Red Cross.

  • Staff are available Monday through Friday, 8 am-5 pm, and Spanish-speaking staff are also available.
  • This effort is separate from the Section 8 program, and the LACDA will provide no subsidies or rental assistance.
  • Any unit rented will be considered a private market rental between the property owner and the prospective tenant.
  • Anyone with available rental units should also list them on AAGLA’s listing site at www.aagla.org/listings.
