Eviction Moratoria Rent Survey Results: More Than $13 Million of Tenant Rent Debt Still Due

Industry News,

On Thursday, June 11, 2020 the Apartment Association of Greater Los Angeles (AAGLA) filed a lawsuit against the City of Los Angeles on behalf of its members and the City’s housing providers. Then on September 21, 2020, AAGLA filed a Preliminary Injunction Motion against the City of Los Angeles seeking to overturn the City’s Eviction Ban and Rent Freeze Moratoria.

Recently, we asked our AAGLA members to participate in a brief survey to let us know how they have been impacted by the various eviction moratoriums and/or their inability to collect rent in order to gain more insight on the greater effect of how these unjust regulations have exactly affected the rental housing industry here in the greater Los Angeles area.

Listed below are the “high-level” summary of results. We appreciate all that took time to complete the survey. Thank you!
