Burbank Approves $600,000 for Interim Renter Relocation Assistance
At their June 13th meeting, the Burbank City Council voted unanimously to allocate $500,000 towards relocation assistance under an Interim Program as well as an additional appropriation of $100,000 for a total of $600,000 in General Fund money to fund a professional services agreement (PSA) with Home Again Los Angeles (HALA) to administer a renter relocation assistance program that includes housing navigation services.
Renters who were issued a No-Fault eviction notice on or after April 1st, 2023, qualify for assistance. The flat rate amounts are as follows:
- $2,500 for Moderate-Income Households
- $5,000 for Low-Income Households
- $7,5000 for Extremely-Low, Very-Low Income Households
Currently, the Interim Program has a tentative roll out date of July 10, 2023.
