We’re Back in Person With Record Turnouts for AAGLA Events

In its effort to provide the most up-to-date information on regulations, proposed legislation and property management best practices, the Apartment Association of Greater Los Angeles (AAGLA) offers multiple opportunities for its members to be engaged and learn. With the impacts of the global, COVID-19 pandemic now in the rearview mirror and becoming smaller and smaller, AAGLA has gotten back to the business of offering in-person events and seminars in addition to its weekly online webinars.

Following a brief introduction by Chief Executive and Executive Director, Daniel Yukelson, on the upcoming rent control ballot initiative, the “Justice for Renters Act,” members received a brief update on the upcoming January 1st deadline to have balcony inspections completed under state law from Jared Duke of Optimum Seismic. Following the brief opening remarks came the “main event” with a presentation on the City of Los Angeles’ Systematic Code Enforcement Program or “SCEP” program by Jean-Claude Olivier who is the Senior Housing Inspector for the Los Angeles Housing Department (LAHD). Following Mr. Olivier’s presentation, members were given an opportunity to ask questions, and many members were still lingering 2-hours after the presentation was scheduled to end still asking questions.

In addition to gaining some extremely important new information, those present were treated to some great pizza and dessert!

All members are encouraged to continually check AAGLA’s online calendar at AAGLA Events for ongoing updates on webinars, seminars, classes, networking events and more!
