Mom of Two Left Homeless As Wealthy Man Abuses Eviction Moratorium and Squats in Her Home

Industry News,

Lori Arche, a hardworking mom with two toddler boys, has been left homeless after a high-income tenant has been squatting in her newly purchased home in Long Beach for over 6 months.

The tenant occupying Lori’s home is a wealthy single man who is taking advantage of the current eviction moratorium set in place by Los Angeles County. This tenant is not impacted financially by COVID and has not suffered any hardship through this pandemic. This wealthy man is scamming the system created for the vulnerable population, and instead is hurting the vulnerable and leaving the Arche family out on the streets.

This is just one of the very many harrowing instances where the cracks in these ill-conceived regulations, such as this eviction moratorium enforced by Los Angeles County, have hurt the ones who work hard to provide affordable housing to the people of Los Angeles.

Lori has started a petition to request that the Los Angeles County eviction moratorium be modified to NOT allow people who have the means to afford rent to take advantage of the law, and also allow owners to occupy their OWN single-family residences.
