L.A. Women’s Rental Assistance Program
Financial Help Offered Through the National Council of Jewish Women, Los Angeles
(NCJW | LA)
The LA Women's Rental Assistance Program (LAWRAP) supports women and their families to stay in their homes. Their Emergency LA Rental Assistance Program provides financial assistance to households financially impacted by emergencies such as loss of work, medical bills, or unexpected financial hardship. Rental assistance checks are made payable directly to property management companies.
In order to qualify for assistance, the following criteria must be met:
- Head of household identifies as a woman;
- Must file taxes as Head of Household federal tax filing status;
- Have dependents of any age living in the same household;
- Lived in the home for a minimum of three months;
- Has received or anticipate receiving a “pay or quit notice” from landlord or management company;
- Able to demonstrate family is facing an unexpected financial hardship that is preventing them from paying rent; and
- Live in one of the four designated zip codes of 90004, 90028, 90029, or 90038.
