Help us stop the inevitable fee increases and the continued poor service levels as the City of Los Angeles’ RecycLA trash-hauling monopoly transitions to the next phase.

What’s About to Change?

The RecycLA franchise has existed in the City of Los Angeles since 2017. Existing contracts with haulers are due to expire on January 1, 2027, and are currently being renegotiated. The City Council will soon consider revisions to the existing program that will cost RecycLA customers even more. NOW is your time to provide input as to what needs to be changed and why. We will use your feedback to advocate for you and mitigate some of the issues we know will arise in this next phase of the program.

Why Your Costs Could Go Up

We already know that waste haulers will be required to pay over $3 million more in franchise fees (on top of what they already pay), they will be required to meet new diversion and separation requirements, and the haulers will be required to make more capital investments. In addition, we know that the city plans to hire at least 15 additional new personnel to help manage this next phase of RecycLA at a cost of millions of dollars. That means it will cost all of us even more…far more.
