AAGLA DECLARES VICTORY! NO ON SB 436 – STOPPED IN ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE

Senate Bill 436 (SB 436) is now DEAD!

The bill would have extended the current 3-day “pay or quit” notice period to 14 days, thus making the notice period nearly five-times longer.

Although SB 436 was passed in its “house of origin,” the State Senate, it then moved to committee review in the State Assembly (2^nd house) where it failed to obtain enough votes to continue towards passage. SB 436 received only 6 of 7 votes needed in committee to continue through the process of becoming law.
