AAGLA DECLARES VICTORY! NO ON SB 436 – STOPPED IN ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE

Industry News,

Senate Bill 436 (SB 436) is now DEAD!

The bill would have extended the current 3-day “pay or quit” notice period to 14 days, thus making the notice period nearly five-times longer.

Although SB 436 was passed in its “house of origin,” the State Senate, it then moved to committee review in the State Assembly (2nd house) where it failed to obtain enough votes to continue towards passage. SB 436 received only 6 of 7 votes needed in committee to continue through the process of becoming law.

THANK YOU TO ALL OUR MEMBER WHO MADE CALLS AND SENT EMAILS TO LEGISLATORS URGING THEM TO VOTE NO ON SENATE BILL 436.
