Join Our Advocacy Efforts

Owning and operating rental housing has become a highly regulated industry, and accordingly, owning and managing rental property has become far more challenging and riskier than ever before. Without an Association such as ours, there would be no other voice fighting for the rights of property owners within our city halls, county offices, and within the state and federal capitols.

AAGLA is the voice that effects change!
  • We are always on watch to defend the rights of the rental housing industry and works hard diligently to promote the highest level of professionalism within our industry.
  • We mobilize when there are pressing issues in our territory and throughout the State of California ensuring our members are up to speed on decisions that will affect their investment.
  • We work with our members on a regular basis to make sure lawmakers and decision makers are hearing the concerns of the industry and taking action to address those concerns.

Now more than ever, we need members like you to become involved and help support our advocacy efforts:
  • It is vital that rental property owners be engaged with policymakers and elected officials, relay their experiences and ensure the voice of the rental housing industry is heard loud and clear. (see the “City Council Meeting Schedules” below)
  • Contribute to one of our two political action committees or our legal fund.
  • Voice your opinion at City Halls or at County Halls of Administration, or on Capitol Hill; there are many ways you can help amplify AAGLA’s voice and message, and help us to express the concerns of multifamily housing providers.
  • Write a letter or email to elected officials and/or local newspapers expressing your views on proposed regulations. (See below for the past letters written below organized by “Topic”.)
  • We are looking for volunteers across the Southland to join us, to mobilize and to take action with us and fight back against irresponsible and overzealous regulations that do nothing to solve our state’s current housing crisis!
