Stay Out of Trouble! Better Word Choices to Avoid Frivolous Lawsuits
Don't Miss Another Important and Entertaining Presentation by Our Expert, Patti Widget of Widget's Way. Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you are left wondering exactly how to stop a frivolous lawsuit? Or, have you even been threatened with or lost sleep over a possible frivolous lawsuit? Unfortunately, frivolous lawsuits have become a very common occurrence. This is especially true in states like California and in tenant disputes, where one side is given a significant advantage and protections. This opens the potential for even more frivolous litigation.
The official frivolous lawsuit meaning, according to the U.S. legal system, is a legal claim that is filed by any entity or individual who understands the lawsuit has no facts or basis to support it. Frivolous lawsuits may also be filed to delay other legal proceedings. Often, frivolous lawsuits are filed as a means for your tenants to extort money from you, leaving you with the choice to either fight at great expense to prove your innocence or settle because doing so is far more cost-effective.
This webinar will give YOU the professional advice you need to avoid legal exposure in many common situations. Our property management expert, Patti Widget from Widget's Way, will provide you with advice on situations that can help keep you from getting yourself into trouble and keep you working smarter, not harder.
Managing rental properties today has become far too complicated. There are far too many situations that may be encountered that can trip you up and expose you to tenants (or others) making legal claims against you.
- If you receive a letter from your tenant's attorney, do you respond?
- Your tenant asks you for an accommodation such as installing a grab bar – how do you respond?
- Do you email or text to terminate communication with your tenants?
- If there's a habitability issue at the property, do you provide your tenant with a hotel while the repairs are being made?
If you want to learn the answers to these and so many other questions, then this is the seminar for YOU! Our leading multifamily industry expert, Patti Widget, the founder of Widget's Way, again joins us for another amazing presentation that will help YOU survive and avoid potentially costly legal exposure. Patti will give you the strategies you need to overcome potentially challenging situations.
