Workplace Harassment Awareness Training Course

TRAINING: Beginning January 1, 2019, California made substantial changes to its sexual harassment prevention training requirements. Under the 2019 changes, all employers with five or more employees must provide sexual harassment prevention training to all employees — supervisors must receive two hours of training and non-supervisory employees must receive one hour, with training taking place within six months of hire or promotion and every two years thereafter.

This Workplace Harassment Awareness training course meets all California state law training requirements and helps participants to quickly learn how to carefully and correctly handle workplace harassment issues and complaints.

Participants will learn to identify, prevent, and take action in dealing with potential or actual sexual harassment issues. Workplace Harassment Awareness is a highly participatory course. It focuses directly on improving management skills of participants so that they can handle any sexual harassment issue or complaint with much greater confidence.

Some important discussion topics include:

  • Identifying ways to stop sexual harassment behavior and issues.
  • Identifying the difference between sexual harassment and discrimination.
  • Distinguishing between the work and social environments and identifying boundaries.
  • Minimizing conflict and maximize the effectiveness of employees who handle sexual harassment complaints.
  • Recognizing correct and incorrect behavior.
  • Using interviewing techniques to draw out information from all involved parties.
