Meet Our State Legislators
Please join us on October 12, 2022 along with our state's legislators for an open discussion on the housing crisis and many other issues of importance to housing providers. There will be live Q&A to address your questions.
Attendance to this online event is free to all AAGLA members. However, we ask that you please make a contribution to our Political Action Committee (PAC):
- $50.00 suggested contribution for attending
- $2,500.00 contribution includes roundtrip airfare and one night stay in Sacramento for AAGLA Lobbying Day (Date to be scheduled). Limit: 10

Fiona Ma, California State Treasurer
Fiona Ma is California’s 34th State Treasurer and the first woman of color and first woman CPA elected to the position. The office finances schools, infrastructure, housing, recycling, public facilities, and more. Treasurer Ma oversees $2 trillion in payments annually and manages an investment portfolio of over $124 billion. She also handles the sale of state bonds. Previously, she served on the California Board of Equalization and in the State Assembly.

State Senator Roderick Wright (Retired)
Roderick Wright is a former State Senator and Assembly member. He also served as District Director to Congresswoman Maxine Waters and worked in affordable housing, the LA Planning Department, and SCAG. An author and speaker, Wright has been a rental property owner for over 40 years and is a longtime AAGLA member. He earned his degree in Urban Studies and City Planning from Pepperdine University.

Daniel Yukelson, Executive Director, Apartment Association of Greater Los Angeles
Daniel Yukelson is the Executive Director of AAGLA. A CPA, he started his career at Ernst & Young and served as CFO for several companies including Premiere Radio Networks and Oasis West Realty. He was involved in the development of the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills and served as Planning and Public Works Commissioner for Beverly Hills.
