How to File a Notice to Terminate Tenancy with LAHD

Any written notice to terminate a tenancy must be submitted to the Los Angeles Housing Department (LAHD) within three business days after being served to the tenant. If the notice is not filed on time with LAHD, the tenant may use this as a defense in an Unlawful Detainer court filing.
