CRMP & Earthquake Multi-Unit (EMR) Grant Program for SoCal
Helping Southern California Property Owners Prepare for the Next Earthquake

Join the California Residential Mitigation Program (CRMP) for a free informational webinar designed for owners of older multi-unit residential buildings in Southern California. Learn about the Earthquake Multi-Unit Retrofit (EMR) grant program, which helps eligible property owners strengthen vulnerable "soft-story" buildings (those with tuck-under parking or open ground-floor space) before the next major earthquake.
CRMP experts will walk through program eligibility, available grant funding, the application process, and seismic retrofit requirements, and will highlight how completing a retrofit protects residents, preserves affordable housing stock, and reduces earthquake damage.
This webinar is especially relevant for owners of:
- Properties that have received a notice and order to retrofit from their city
- Wood-framed, multi-story buildings built before 1991
- Buildings with 5–10 units and tuck-under (or similar open) ground-floor parking
Located in these Southern California cities with mandatory soft-story retrofit ordinances:
- Beverly Hills
- Burbank
- Culver City
- Los Angeles
- Pasadena
- Santa Monica
- Torrance
- West Hollywood
