WeHo to Host Community Meetings on September 9th and 30th to Discuss Updates to Rent Stabilization Ordinance

• The City of West Hollywood will be hosting two in-person Rent Stabilization Ordinance (RSO) community meetings in September to discuss proposed updates to its RSO. The meetings are free, open to the public, and drop-in.
• At this time, the city is contemplating the following RSO amendments: (i) whether landlords should be required to restore lost housing services instead of simply accepting a rent reduction, (ii) whether longer notice periods are needed for owner move-in evictions, and (iii) whether changes to relocation payments for longtime tenants are needed.
• Meetings are being held either in-person or virtually. The in-person community meetings will take place at Kings Road Park, located at 1000 North Kings Road, West Hollywood.

Limited parking

 Will be available at the Kings Road parking structure, located at 8383 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, as follows:
•    Tenant Session – Wednesday, September 2, 2026, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
•    Landlord Session – Wednesday, September 30, 2026, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The virtual meeting session for landlords will be held on:

• Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
• The virtual tenant session will be held on Wednesday, September 23 from 12:00, 2026, p.m. - 1:30 p.m.

The meetings will provide West Hollywood community members with opportunities to learn about proposed changes to the City’s Rent Stabilization Ordinance, ask questions, and provide input. Tenants, landlords, property managers, and interested community members are encouraged to participate.

All property owners in West Hollywood are encouraged to attend one or both of the landlord sessions to voice your concerns. If you do not attend, when there is only a limited turnout of housing providers, issues move in the wrong direction.
